Why Our Chiropractic Appointments Are 60 Minutes | Overland Park
If you’ve ever visited a traditional chiropractic office, you may be familiar with a quick appointment: check in, receive an adjustment, and head back to your day.
At Karim Chiropractic & Acupuncture in Overland Park, I intentionally chose a different approach. Every 60-minute chiropractic appointment is designed to give us time to listen, assess, provide individualized care, and discuss strategies that may support you between visits.
Not because every person needs an hour of hands-on treatment, but because I believe meaningful care requires enough time to understand the individual, not simply the symptom. Learn more about our services here.
Why I Schedule 60-Minute Chiropractic Appointments
One of the reasons I created Karim Chiropractic & Acupuncture was to create a different kind of experience for patients.
Your appointment isn’t simply about addressing one area of your body and moving on.
I want to understand what you’re experiencing, what your goals are, what your daily life looks like, and what factors may be contributing to how you’re feeling.
That may include conversations about movement, stress, recovery, sleep, activity levels, or other aspects of your lifestyle.
Having that time allows us to look at the bigger picture.
What Happens During a 60-Minute Chiropractic Appointment?
Every appointment is individualized, so there isn’t a single treatment sequence that every patient receives.
Depending on your needs and goals, your appointment may include:
- Chiropractic adjustment
- Acupuncture
- Cupping therapy
- Nervous-system regulation strategies
- Lifestyle and recovery guidance
The goal isn’t to fit as many treatments as possible into an hour.
The goal is to use the time intentionally.
Sometimes that may mean focusing primarily on chiropractic care. Other times, acupuncture or another approach may be appropriate to incorporate.
The treatment should fit the person, not the other way around.
Why Time Matters in Personalized Chiropractic Care
When appointments are rushed, there can be very little opportunity to step back and ask a bigger question:
Why are you feeling the way you do, and what can we do to support your overall well-being?
A longer appointment gives us room to have that conversation.
It also gives you an opportunity to ask questions, understand what we’re doing, and leave with a clearer sense of what you can do outside the treatment room.
I don’t believe that more treatment is automatically better treatment.
I believe that thoughtful, individualized care is better than simply doing more.
How Chiropractic and Acupuncture Can Fit Into the Same Appointment
One of the things that makes an integrative approach different is having more than one tool available.
For some patients, chiropractic care may be the primary focus of an appointment. For others, acupuncture, cupping, or additional recovery strategies may be incorporated when appropriate.
The purpose isn’t to use every modality at every visit.
It’s to consider which approaches may best fit the individual and their goals.
That’s one reason I value having enough time in each appointment to assess what makes sense rather than automatically following the same routine.
What Makes Karim Chiropractic & Acupuncture Different?
Karim Chiropractic & Acupuncture is a cash-based, integrative wellness practice in Overland Park, Kansas.
The practice was intentionally designed for people who are looking for a more personalized experience rather than a high-volume, quick-appointment model.
That means your visit can include time for:
- Understanding your concerns and goals
- Individualized assessment
- Chiropractic care
- Acupuncture when appropriate
- Cupping therapy when appropriate
- Nervous-system regulation strategies
- Lifestyle and recovery discussions
The exact approach will depend on the individual.
There isn’t a checklist that every patient has to move through.
Who Might Prefer a 60-Minute Chiropractic Appointment?
A longer appointment may appeal to someone who:
- Wants more time to discuss their concerns
- Is interested in an individualized approach to care
- Wants chiropractic care that may incorporate other wellness strategies
- Is interested in combining chiropractic and acupuncture
- Values education and guidance alongside hands-on care
- Prefers a calmer, less rushed healthcare experience
It’s not necessarily the right model for everyone, and that’s okay.
My goal is to create a practice for people who value this type of personalized care.
A Different Kind of Chiropractic Experience in Overland Park
If you’re looking for a chiropractor in Overland Park, you have many options.
I created Karim Chiropractic & Acupuncture because I wanted to offer something specific: time, attention, and an individualized approach to care.
A 60-minute appointment doesn’t mean every minute needs to be filled with treatment.
It means we have enough time to listen, think, treat when appropriate, answer questions, and discuss ways you can support your health and recovery outside the treatment room.
You shouldn’t feel rushed through your care.
Interested in a More Personalized Approach?
If you’re looking for a more comprehensive approach that combines chiropractic care with acupuncture and other supportive strategies when appropriate, I’d be happy to talk with you about what you’re looking for.
